We're Moving!

As many of you know, Brian has been working in College Station since June.  It's been a 2 hour + one-way commute, which isn't sustainable for the 2 years that he'll be on this project.  In fact, we've been spending some weeknights in random hotels in Cypress this summer to break-up the drive for him.  But, the hotels were never meant to be more than a temporary solution.  The long-term plan was for us to relocate to Cypress.  It will still be a 1-hour commute for Brian, but this way, we'll only have to move once (assuming his next project isn't in Galveston!)

A couple of weeks ago, we received an offer on our house from a nice family in Pearland.  After a couple of rounds of negotiations, we settled on a price and signed the official papers with a September 30th closing date.  We've already had the inspection done, and we're working on a few minor repairs for them in the meantime.  (By "we," I mean Brian!)

But, that left us with no place to live on the other side, so we had to scramble this past week to find a house.  Throughout this process, we had our sights set on Bridgeland, a master-planned community off of Fry Road.  We liked the feel of the neighborhood, and we thought we'd enjoy the nature trails, lakes, and other amenities.  So, last Thursday, we toured five homes and settled on our top three.  We made an offer on our favorite over the weekend.  And, last night, it officially became ours!  It's new construction, and we're in time to make selections on the carpet, wood flooring, counters, and fixtures.   We're super excited about this next phase but also aware that a lot has to come together between now and the next six weeks!

Here is a picture of a finished home with the same floor plan:

And, here's where you'll find me and Landry when the unpacking is done:

On that note, I'm off to pack some more boxes!
