Landry's Exciting News...

I'm going to be a.....

That's right!  Mom is going to have a baby in January, and we couldn't be more excited around here!  She's finishing up her first trimester (even though I don't know what that means), and so far, all the ultrasounds look great!  I can't wait to show my little brother or sister all of my tricks!

My Wheels For Tomorrow

Doesn't it seem to fit my style?  Ha!   What does fit my style, however, is the idea of saving money, and now that Brian is commuting to College Station, we calculated that we'll save $20 in gas every day he drives my car instead of his truck.  $20....not a huge sum of money, but enough for us to enjoy a dinner out....do it two or three times a month and it starts to add up to a tank of gas or the equivalent.  So, we decided that on days when I don't need to be doing much driving, I will keep Brian's truck.

In order to convince myself that this was a viable option, I drove the truck for the first time EVER this afternoon. (Landry immediately started laughing when he saw me behind the wheel.)  It felt every bit as big as it looks, but I have to admit that it wasn't as much of an adjustment as I thought it would be.

All that to say, if you see a dirt-colored Tundra on the road tomorrow with a brunette female driver and a baby in the back-seat, get far, far away!!  Consider yourself warned.

Swimming Lessons

Landry and I are wrapping up our first month of Mom & Me swimming lessons at Houston Swim Club.  So far, it's been a lot of fun, and Landry has yet to shed a tear!   The entire lesson is choreographed to song, so it feels like we're just playing games the whole time.  Landry's learned to put his face in the water, and loves to splash  A LOT.  His teacher commented today that Landry seems to be the class cheerleader because he claps after all the songs.  So far, he likes everything except floating on his back.  Unfortunately, floating's such a key component to water safety that I think it will be months..if not at least a year...before he gets promoted to the water-safe class.  Here's a picture of us last week when Landry's Grammie came to watch/take photos.
